Local Habitat for Humanity Continues Hammering Away

The local Habitat for Humanity had another successful year building homes and widening its community.
Enjoyable day for our Aging in Place team - a visit with recent partner, Mr. Short, who welcomed us into his beautiful home and shared details of his family who adorned his walls in photos followed by a “new to us”bookcase to keep us organized (we are nerds sometimes)! We are happy that our program allowed Mr. Short to have an HVAC unit and new door installed at his home. Aging in Place applications are still being accepted through September for various exterior repairs to help our elderly remain in their homes safely and affordably 😊
Last night, we gathered in a spirit of joy and gratitude to celebrate the Apostles Build’s recently completed affordable home for Shante with supporters from St. Joseph of the Pines . As we shared stories of building and support, we felt an undeniable sense of belonging with both long-time supporters and new friends.![]()
Thank you for such fabulous food by Chef Lee and to Kimberly, Chasity, Brenda, and Nicole for orchestrating the event! We are profoundly grateful for our partnership with St. Josephs, which embodies the true spirit of community and the power of collaboration in making dreams of homeownership a reality. Together, we are not just building houses; we are building hope, dignity, and resilience.
