Thank you for a record-breaking gala on April 27th that will provide funding for two Habitat homes as we surpassed $270,000 of net proceeds!  The night was full of energy and generosity – and we are grateful for all of you!  If you joined us through the end of the evening, you heard from Pinehurst Resort CEO Tom Pashley as he announced the generous investment they are making in our plans at Habitat. Tom said, “Habitat is taking a bold step with the development of Sandhills Station, Pinehurst shares this vision and wants to also take a bold step by supporting the project.” He explained that Pinehurst will donate all the tee times on June 10th at the newly opened Course No. 10 to Habitat for sale and will even match the sales up to $100,000. We are thrilled to have local partners like Pinehurst, FirstHealth, Moore County Schools, The Town of Aberdeen, and others making this unique planned community possible.

We extend special thanks to this year’s gala co-chairs, Kim Sutton and Lori West. These talented and very busy women led a committee that worked tirelessly to create the perfect evening for our guests. From the putting contest on the practice green with the backdrop of US Open tents to the specialty cocktails and themed décor, their Gowns and Golf evening was a smashing success! Looking ahead, we are excited to continue building and preserving affordable housing in the Sandhills. This summer, we will complete five homes on our newly dedicated Page Cunningham Road, and then move on to a 12-home subdivision we are building in Addor. These projects are not just about constructing houses, they are about building homes and communities. In addition to our new homes, we have been awarded funding to provide over 50 critical home repairs for elderly and disabled members of our community.
