Our affiliate's success is largely due to the hard work and dedication of our volunteers. While we greatly appreciate all of our construction site and ReStore volunteers, we want to remind everyone that there are many other opportunities to get involved and make a difference. Specifically, we are calling on volunteers to join our committees for our sponsored builds. These committees play a crucial role in creating a memorable experience for the community. By joining a committee, you'll have the chance to use your skills and talents to help plan and execute a successful build. Whether you're a master organizer, a creative problem-solver, or a natural leader, we have a place for you on one of our committees. So why not step up and help make a difference in your community? Join one of our committees today!
This type of build is a partnership that allows twelve individual churches (or coalition of churches) to join together to fully sponsor and build a house for a local family. As Jesus’ original apostles were charged with spreading the word about Jesus, our “apostles” are charged with assisting in Habitat’s mission to provide decent shelter for God’s children. Our Apostles Build Committee sponsors a build every year with the help from the faith community. Together, we break down barriers while building walls by partnering with people with different backgrounds but a common cause.
Habitat’s signature fundraising event is the Annual Spring Gala at Pinehurst Country Club. This year’s event will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024. Donor generosity typically raises enough funding to sponsor two Habitat homes! Our attendees enjoy an elegant night, beginning with a sponsor’s reception on the veranda overlooking Pinehurst #2, a delicious dinner, and our exciting live auction. Sponsorships for 2024 are available at habitatgala.org, and any remaining tickets will be on sale beginning February 1st.
Habitat is honored to partner with our local veteran community to provide home ownership and critical home repair opportunities. We work closely with local veteran posts and other organizations to identify individuals who may need a new home or a repair to their existing home. If you know of a veteran in need, please contact us or direct them to our website. To volunteer with our veteran programs, please reach out to [email protected]. We are grateful to have the chance to thank these service members for their sacrifice through our work.
